Shania Twain - Come On Over

Releasing Come On Over, her third studio album, Canadian singer-songwriter Shania Twain scored her first #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart when it topped the chart for 20 weeks during 1999. First hitting the chart in November 1997, Come On Over hit #1 for the first time in its 65th week in the Top 50. In total, the album spent 78 weeks in the Top Ten and 146 weeks in the Top 50.

Four tracks from Come On Over hit the ARIA Top Ten: ‘You’re Still The One’ (#1 May ’98), ‘From This Moment On’ (#2 Nov. ’98), ‘That Don't Impress Me Much’ (#2 Apr. ’99) and ‘Man! I Feel Like A Woman’ (#4 Jun. ’99)

Come On Over was #7 on the 1998 ARIA End Of Year Albums Chart on #1 on the 1999 ARIA End Of Year Albums Chart. It was accredited a remarkable 18x Platinum.

Shania Twain has also hit #1 with Up! (#1 Nov. ’02) and Now (#1 Oct. ’17).


Pearl Jam - Last Kiss

American grunge legends Pearl Jam took out their only #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart when ‘Last Kiss’ held the top spot for seven consecutive weeks between July and September 1999. The track was a cover of a song originally released by American artist Wayne Cochran in 1961. Pearl Jam first released their version on the b-side of their 1998 Fan Club Christmas single but it came to greater prominence when it was included on the multi-artist release No Boundaries: A Benefit For The Kosovar Refugees.

The single debuted at #2 at the end of June 1999 before hitting #1 for the first time in its fifth week in the Top 50. ‘Last Kiss’ spent a total of 17 weeks in the Top Ten and 33 weeks in the Top 50.

Being accredited 3x Platinum, the single was #4 on the 1999 ARIA End Of Year Singles Chart.
Pearl Jam’s last appearance in the Top Ten was with ‘Nothing As It Seems’ (#7 May ’00).
