Eskimo Joe - Inshalla

Releasing fourth studio album Inshalla, Fremantle band Eskimo Joe scored their second #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Coming three years on from Black Fingernails, Red Wine (#1 Jun. ’06), the album debuted at #1 before going on to spend four weeks in the Top Ten and 17 weeks in the Top 50.

Two singles from Inshalla cracked the ARIA Top 50: ‘Foreign Land’ (#13 Jun. ‘9) and ‘Don’t Let Me Down’ (#50 Oct. ’09).

Inshalla was #45 on the 2009 ARIA End Of Year Albums Chart and was accredited Gold. It was nominated for five ARIA Awards in 2009.

Eskimo Joe followed Inshalla with Ghosts Of The Past (#3 Aug. ’11). Their most recent chart appearance was with Wastelands (#12 Sept. ’13).


The Black Eyed Peas  Boom Boom Pow

American group The Black Eyed Peas took out the fifth of their eight career #1s on the ARIA Singles Chart when ‘Boom Boom Pow’ held the top spot for six straight weeks during May and June 2009. The first single from the band’s fifth album The E.N.D (#1 Jun. ’09), ‘Boom Boom Pow’ debuted at #20 in April before hitting #1 for the first time in its seventh week on the chart. In total, the track spent 16 weeks in the Top Ten and 43 weeks in the Top 50.

Being accredited 4x Platinum, ‘Boom Boom Pow’ was #4 on the 2009 ARIA End Of Year Singles Chart.

The run by ‘Boom Boom Pow’ at #1 was ended by another Black Eyed Peas song, ‘I Gotta Feeling’ (#1 Jun. ’09), which spent seven weeks in the pole position. The group scored a third #1 single in 2009 with ‘Meet Me Halfway’ (#1 Nov. ’09).

The Black Eyed Peas have also hit #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart with ‘Where Is The Love?’ (#1 Aug. ’03), ‘shut Up’ (#1 Dec. ’03), ‘Don’t Phunk With My Heart’ (#1 May ’05), ‘My Humps’ (#1 Nov. ’05) and ‘The Time (Dirty Bit)’ (#1 Nov. ’10).
