Who'll top this week's ARIA Charts?

October 2, 2019

New releases come from Boy & Bear, Flume, Complete and more.

On last week’s ARIA Charts, Tones And I’s ‘Dance Monkey’ took out its ninth week at #1 and equaled the record for most weeks in the top spot on the Singles Chart by an Australian artist. On the Albums Chart, it was week three at #1 for Post Malone’s Hollywood’s Bleeding.

Who could we see vying for top honours on the ARIA Charts this week?

Let’s check out some of the possible debutants and movers.

Sydney’s Boy & Bear return with their first album in four years, Suck On Light; Perth rapper Complete could make his chart debut with Death Rattle; comedy rock band Steel Panther could take out a third Top Ten entry with Heavy Metal Rules; American rapper DaBaby will be aiming for his Top 50 debut with second album, Kirk; Swedish prog metal band Opeth return with 13th album, In Cauda Venenum; Blue Mountains duo Hermitude release Pollyanarchy, their first album in four years; releasing sixth album, Welcome Home, Hellyeah could take out their sixth Top 50 entry; Rockhampton duo Busby Marou follow #1 album Postcards From The Shell House (#1 Feb. ’17) with The Great Divide; Adam Lambert could return to the Top 50 for the first time since 2015 with Velvet: Side A.

This week’s Albums Chart could include a re-entry from The Beatles’ Abbey Road, following its 50th anniversary reissue, and Dean Lewis’ A Place We Knew, among others.

Flume could take out his second Top 50 entry for 2019 with the Vera Blue-featured track ‘Rushing Back’;  English singer-songwriter Freya Ridings could make her Top 50 debut with ‘Castles’.

Look out for moves up the Singles Chart this week by Sam Smith’s ‘How Do You Sleep?’, Maroon 5’s ‘Memories’, as well as Lizzo’s ‘Truth Hurts’ and ‘Good As Hell’.
