The Weeknd returns to #1 with Blinding Lights

After two weeks at #2, Canadian artist The Weeknd returns to the top of the ARIA Singles Chart with ‘Blinding Lights’. It’s the eleventh week in the top spot for the single from The Weeknd’s former #1 album After Hours (#1 Mar. ’20). It joins Drake’s ‘God’s Plan’ (#1 Feb. ’18), the Spice Girls’ ‘Wannabe’ (#1 Nov. ’96) and Bryan Adams’ ‘Everything I Do (I Do It For You)’ (#1 Jul. ’91), all of whom also spent eleven weeks at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart.
In its ninth week in the Top 50, ‘Sunday Best’ by American duo Surfaces moves up one spot to hit the Top Ten for the first time. The track gained attention due to its use on TikTok. It’s also gone Top Ten in Canada and New Zealand.
Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘Savage’ continues its race up the chart, moving up five more spots this week to a new peak at #14. The single is also the rapper’s highest charting hit in the UK and Canada.
Lil Mosey moves up one more spot to hit a new peak at #16 with ‘Blueberry Faygo’.
‘Pump It Up’ by Endor climbs up three to a new peak at #18.
Doja Cat’s ‘Boss B**ch’ is up two to a new peak of #22.
A week on from making his debut at #35, American rapper/songwriter Jack Harlow jumps up twelve spots to #23 with ‘Whats Poppin’. Harlow’s debut single on the ARIA Charts comes from his EP Sweet Action which is starting to climb charts around the world.
#34: JP Saxe Feat. Julia Michaels ‘If The World Was Ending’ – Canadian singer-songwriter JP Saxe makes his debut in the ARIA Top 50 with ‘If The World Was Ending’. Featuring American singer-songwriter Julia Michaels, the track was written and recorded on the day the two artists met for the first time. It features on Saxe’s EP Hold It Together, which was released in February this year.
#50: S1mba Feat. DTG ‘Rover’ – UK rapper S1mba hits the Top 50 for the first time with ‘Rover’. The single, which has scored over 3 million streams on YouTube, debuted at #48 in the UK last week.
