International icon and home-grown hero Troye Sivan has cleaned up at the 2023 ARIA Awards in partnership with YouTube after receiving four awards for his hit single Rush in tonight’s ceremony at the Hordern Pavillion on Gadigal land.
Broadcasting live from London, Genesis Owusu took home three ARIA Awards with Album of the Year, Best Hip Hop/Rap Release, and Best Independent Release presented by PPCA for his highly anticipated and critically acclaimed album STRUGGLER
G Flip once again cemented themselves as one of Australia’s most loved artists, smashing out an epic performance of hit songs Good Enough and The Worst Person Alive, in addition to taking home two ARIA Awards for Best Australian Live Act and Best Video (Kyle Caulfield).
In a huge night for Forest Claudette, they won their first ever ARIA Award with Best Soul/R&B Release with Mess Around and Best Cover Art (Jeremy Koren (Grey Ghost) & Michelle Grace Hunder).
Other winners include Kylie Minogue for Best Pop Release, Taylor Swift for Most Popular International Artist, Dan Sultan for Best Adult Contemporary Album, DMA’S for Best Group Presented by Stan, Emma Memma for Best Children’s Album, Fanny Lumsden for Best Country Album, MK & Dom Dolla for Best Dance/Electronic Release, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard for Best Rock Album, Joseph Tawadros for Best World Music Album, Teenage Dads for Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist, Parkway Drive for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album, The Teskey Brothers for Best Blues & Roots Album, The Vampires featuring Chris Abrahams for Best Jazz Album, and John Farnham: Finding The Voice (Music From The Feature Documentary) for Best Original Soundtrack or Musical Theatre Cast Album presented by Stan. In a beautiful moment, Irish singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy presented the Telstra ARIA Music Teacher Award to Sue Lowry of Southport Special School, Yugambeh Country, Gold Coast.
Viewers were treated to a dazzling evening celebrating the best in Australian music with performances by G Flip, Budjerah, DMA’S, Brad Cox, Fanny Lumsden, Jessica Mauboy, Meg Mac, Peach PRC, and a celebration of 50 Years of Hip Hop with a medley performance including Bliss n Eso, BARKAA, 1200 Techniques, DJ Krissy, and Sound Unlimited Posse featuring KYE
Hosted by Brooke Boney and Tommy Little, the ARIA Awards streamed live across Stan, followed by a special presentation on Channel 9 from 7.30pm with performances and moments also available on the @ARIA.official YouTube channel.
