Swift visit comes to a close

Taylor Swift has officially left the country, but her presence can be felt right across the ARIA Charts this week as Midnights holds at #1 on the Albums Chart for the 16th non-consecutive week.

Taylor also owns the rest of the top six albums, as well as #8, marking the second week in a row she has had a record-setting seven albums in the top 10.

The highest new entry goes to Swing Fever by Rod Stewart and Jools Holland, which arrives at #19.

It’s Rod’s first hit album since The Tears Of Hercules reached #39 in 2021. He was last in the top 20 in 2019, when You’re In My Heart: Rod Stewart With The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra peaked at #3. 

It is Rod’s 32nd top 20 album, stretching back to Every Picture Tells A Story in 1971, which was the first of his seven albums to reach the summit. 

The album is also TV presenter and bandleader Jools Holland’s first charted album here, although he did get to #18 in 1979 with Cool For Cats as a member of Squeeze. 

Second week at #1 on the Singles Chart for Taylor’s Cruel Summer, while Beyonce’s countryfied Texas Hold ‘Em steps up from #3 to #2. It’s gunning to become her first #1 hit here in more than 17 years: her only other Australian chart-topper, Irreplaceable, spent three weeks at #1 in late 2006 and early 2007. 

SZA scores another top 10 hit with Saturn, which launches at #8. It’s the lead single from Lana, the upcoming reissue of her #1 album SOS, arriving sometime this year.

Djo flies from #69 to #14 with his debut single End Of Beginning. Djo is better known as Joe Keer, who plays Steve in Stranger Things.
