Who'll top this week's ARIA Charts?

November 30, 2016

Contenders include The Weeknd, A.B. Original, Susan Boyle and more.

At #1 on last week’s ARIA Charts, Metallica debuted in the top spot with their first album in eight years, Hardwired…To Self-Destruct. On the Singles Chart, James Arthur notched up his seventh week at the top with ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’.

Which acts might we see debut on this week’s ARIA Charts?

Let’s take a look at the contenders.

ALBUMS

Canadian artist The Weeknd will be aiming for a second #1 with third album Starboy; local hip hop luminaries Briggs and Trials team up as A.B. Original for the album Reclaim Australia; country star Garth Brooks returns with tenth album Gunslinger; Susan Boyle releases seventh studio album A Wonderful World; the late, great Prince could return to the top 50 with double-disc compilation 4Ever; Kate Bush could return to the top 50 for the first time since 2011 with live album Before The Dawn.

Look out for moves up the Albums Chart this week by Michael Bublé’s Christmas, John Farnham & Olivia Newton John’s Friends For Christmas, Adele’s 25, Crowded House’s The Very Very Best Of Crowded House, the soundtrack to Trolls and Kylie Minogue’s Kylie Christmas.

Singles

As well as a potential high debut with Starboy, The Weeknd could pick up a new appearance on the Singles Chart with ‘Party Monster’; multiple ARIA winner Flume could hit the Singles Chart with the four-track ‘Skin Companion EP I’.

Singles that could climb this week’s chart include The Weeknd’s ‘Starboy’, Drake’s ‘Fake Love’, The Weeknd’s ‘I Feel It Coming’ and Flume’s ‘Say It’.

The weekly ARIA Charts announcement happens every Saturday at 5pm.
